2 Months!

Hard to believe that my baby is 2 months old today! She is getting so big. It wasn't until this morning that I looked at while getting her dressed and realized just how big she is getting. She is starting to get a little more meat on her, her legs and tush is filling out and it is so cute! I am starting to have to put some of her clothes away since she is outgrowing them already...how sad, but exciting to know that she is growing and getting bigger. She is so active, wiggling around and I can no longer leaver her unattended on the couch or bed for the fear that she will fall off. She is still smiling up a storm and starting to giggle and talk a lot more. Lots of changes taking place in such a short amount of time! Can't wait for more to come!

Lucas update: I got to talk to him for the first time in a week on the phone a couple nights ago and it was so good to hear his voice! I miss hearing it every night before I go to bed. He is doing good, working A LOT which is good to keep him busy and make time go faster for him. Not sure when he is going to port, sometime in the coming week. Can't wait to post some pics.

I've Survived....So Far!

It is hard to believe that Sydnee is almost 2 months old! My wounds and memories are still fresh, but as each day passes it makes it all worth it! Sydnee is starting to follow things and be more alert, but the best part is, she is starting to giggle and smile. Every morning she is full of smiles and giggles and it starts my morning off great! I love it!

She has her 2 month checkup a week from today where is getting her shots...I will be a wreck but I am hopefully that she might be one of those babies where it doesn't phase her. Wishful thinking huh?

Lucas is on the ship now, we are unable to have our daily conversations on skype and be able to see one another. Sydnee just stares at him and loves to listen to him. It is getting hard, but we are just wanting to get through this last deployment so we don't have to be apart ever again. He is doing as well as can be and working hard! He says he works with amazing co workers that amaze him everyday which is a complete 180 from the last time where that was not the case. Maybe this time he can enjoy himself more and take in this once in a lifetime experience.

Sydnee and I are trying to stay warm (wishing we were back in Sunny Cali where the weather is 70) but we are thinking about summer here! Can't wait to get out and not be so stir crazy!!!!

One Month Checkup

My baby is growing up! She went to her first checkup here in Austin. The doctor was very impressed on how good she was, didn't cry at all. She sat as stared at the lights, walls, and everything in sight. She checked out great, now 22 inches long and 9.9 lbs...my little chunky monkey! I knew she was growing like a weed, because her clothes are either too small or starting to fit better now. It is amazing to see the change and a little bitter sweet. I am not looking forward to the next appointment, which is her 2 month checkup and first round of shots...I will have to have support for that one! :)

Deployment #2 is starting...Not ready for it!

Lucas left not too long ago from MN and it was the last that Sydnee and I will see him for at least 5 to 6 months. This time, the goodbye was so difficult as Sydnee was just born and Luke hasn't had that chance to really get to know her yet. BUT I reassured him that I will be sending LOTS of pictures and sitting on Skype with him, every chance we can get. I can only hope this helps him through it and helps both us as well. We miss him so much already!
He actually leaves for his destination tonight, so the deployment is starting and the days can starting flying by! :) I am already ready for this to be over with! When this is over with that means no more deployments and no more military, as Luke is getting out and will only have 4 months left on his contract when he returns. So until then, Luke, be careful and safe travels. We love you and are waiting for our daddy to return to us safe and sound!
